ENTER TO WIN!

PRE-FAIR CONTESTS – Entry Deadline July 2

Adults, kids, and all those in between are invited to enter our Pre-Fair Contests!  You can color, create a circus poster, or invent some all-new circus acts. Elementary school kids can even read books to earn free carnival rides!  Every contestant gets a free ticket to the Fair, and prizes include Fair Passes, Carnival Tickets, and baskets of goodies! (Contestants receive only one Fair ticket, no matter how many contests they enter. If you enter the Coloring Contest, you get a Fair discount ticket. If you enter one or more of the other contests, you will receive a full Fair admission ticket instead.) The reading contest is just for elementary-age kids, but the others are open to all ages. You will need to use all your reading, drawing, and creative skills to win these contests, so give it your all! The entry deadline will be here before you know it (July 2), so download the entry forms and get started now!

IF YOU RAN THE CIRCUS…

Who Can Enter? Everyone!!
What Are the Prizes? Fair Tickets & Circus Surprises

What kind of circus would you have if you were in charge? Let your imagination go wild! There are all kinds of circuses all over the world; circuses with performing animals, and circuses with performing humans. Some circuses perform in the largest arenas in the world, and others travel around and set up tents for their performances. And every circus has different types of performers, from sword swallowers to dancing dogs. This is your chance to imagine your idea of the perfect circus. You can get ideas online, at the library, or just from your imagination.

To enter, tell (write) or show (draw) what your circus would look like. Your entry can be a picture, a story, or a little of both. You can use markers, crayons, pencils, or paint. Everything on your entry should be your work, so NO stickers, NO clipart, and NO glitter (it makes a mess in the office!). And the most important rule – everything on your entry should be your work. So if you can’t write, draw a picture! Entries will not be judged on spelling, but make sure we can read your writing and understand what you mean to say. All entries must be on ONE side of your 8 ½ by 11” or 11” by 17” paper. One entry per person.
